I attached 4 STUVA storage cabinets together and then added plywood and plaster to the back to make a free standing room divider.

  1. I cannot find these exact cabinets anymore but looking at alternatives. Did you have any troubles with the doors opening when they are flush up against each other like that? I am wondering whether i need to add any panels between them to ensure they open. Any advice for what to look at regarding this when looking for a different cabinet since these are discontinued?

    How did you secure the painting on the back?
    Did you add any extra layers on the back of the shelves?

  4. It doesn’t seem to be secured to or with anything…do you think that if you add more storage to go all the way up to the ceiling and then plaster, would make it safe or at least safer?? I think if you take it all the way up, provided you have the height in your room for that, you could not tip it unless you make a big hole in the ceiling.

    1. There should be no reason to secure it as you ask. The structure is heavy enough and large enough to freestand. Remember curio cabinets large buffets and such furniture doesn’t need to be attached. They are free standing

  7. How did you secure it from tipping over? Not to be a killjoy but those 75″ cabinets are a tip risk if they aren’t anchored in some way, especially near a walkway where someone could accidentally fall into them.

    1. They are not at risk at falling over. We have done the same and not once have they even wobbled.
