Easy DIY headboard for your bed

I made a headboard from the IKEA LACK tables and shelves for my bed.

Item List:

  • 2x LACK coffee tables
  • 2x LACK side tables
  • 4x LACK shelves

Home improvement store

  • 6x iron plate 50mm x 100mm
  • 4x iton plate 50mm x 200mm
  • a lot of screws

Screw the table plates together using the iron plates (50mm x 100mm) and screws.

DIY headboard plan

Screw the LACK side tables together

Then screw the table legs underneath to raise the board to the level you want. I used 4 (2 + 2) use the 50mm x 200mm iron plates.

attach the legs

Then screw the shelves on and you are ready to put it in place.

Thank you :)

This is a cool idea and I’m looking to put it together. What screws did you use? Also, it looks like you put a couple of the screws for the first 6 plates right on the edge of the tables. Was there a particular reason? They are in a specific design, so it seems like you had a reason. I’m worried about the particle board splitting though. Thanks!
