New Bathroom with Kitchen Cupboards!

Materials: Abstract High Gloss Grey, Akurum Base Cabinets, Pax closet, Stave Mirror

Bathroom vanities can cost a fortune! After searching long and hard to find a custom looking vanity to fill this large bathroom, I turned toward the IKEA kitchen line and came up with this gorgeous custom looking vanity. With the base figured out (30″ sink, 15″ drawers, 30″ sink), I then purchased two undermount bathroom sinks, and used left over counter material from my kitchen. The end result is stunning for a fraction of the costs I was originally quoted.

    Hi from germany,
    congrats to your gorgeous bathroom.
Can you tell me, where you bought the sinks/washbasins?

    Kind regards

  2. Hi Jackie – thanks for your comments! The total width is 75″ and the total depth is 24″. Kitchen counters have a standard size of 24″, and most bathroom vanities are around 20″. The extra 4″ is great if you have the space! The base cabinets consist of a 30″ wide double door, a 15″ drawer cabinet, and the end is another 30″ wide double door cabinet. With this configuration the doors and drawers are all 15″ wide so it’s really nice and balanced! I hope that’s more clear….

Hi Veronica – I, too, love this idea and have been thinking of going this same route for our vanity and possible cabinets for our hallway. The undermount sinks, did you have to use Ikea sinks, or did you use something else?

      Thank you!

  3. Jackie says:

Absolutely fantastic hack! Is the vanity total 75″ or 60″?

  4. Jackie says:

Wow, what a wonderful hack! Honestly, you can’t even tell the cabinets are “for the kitchen”. Forgive my ignorance but is the total length of the vanity 60″? I’m assuming the DEPTH is the 15″ measurement.

My bath and dressing room/closet are all Akurum. The drawers are really effective clothing storage.
