Ikea Hacker Bar Cart 2

This Ikea Hack transformed an Ikea kitchen cart and glass rack into an elegant bar cart. Bar Carts are beautiful but can be extremely expensive and often do not have built in storage for wine glasses. So when my whiskey cocktail obsessed partners insisted on getting a bar cart for our new apartment I turned to IKEA. I stained the existing birch ikea bar cart to make it look more rustic, added five wine glass racks for storage, and outfitted it with some ikea cocktail supplies. The project was simple and has been an incredible addition to our apartment!

What wine glass rack did you use ? We are having a hard time finding one that spans across. Thanks

What stain did you use at home depot!? I love this.

i did this and it only took me a few days. The wood used by IKEA is already treated so you can put the stain directly over it. I used walnut stain that I got from Home Depot. Just make sure you paint it on an re brush it as it dries so it doesn’t leave streaks. Also it’d be smart to stain it first before you put it together.

  5. Nicole Scott says:

Did you sand the entire cart before staining it?

  6. Kate says:
