DIY Coffee Table from Malm bed slats

After buying a new bed, I needed to get rid of our old IKEA Malm bed. When it came to the bed slats, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I decided to upgrade the wood, which was in great condition, by building myself a coffee table.

I wanted something rustic looking as I’ve always liked the look of reclaimed wood. After taking apart the slats, I built up the frame before staining the wood and adding some metal ring handles. I also painted the inside yellow, so now it reminds me of a glowing pirate’s treasure chest.

I also have some bed slats lying around, I think I’ll try to do the same this weekend, thanks for the idea! :)

Great idea! I also love the paint color at your wall on this picture. I would very much like to know what color and brand it is.
Thanks in advance to let me know!
    Kind regards
