Malm King Bed with Floating Nightstands

Materials: Malm King Bed and 2 Nightstands. Table Saw, Drill Press

Description: We wanted to go to a king bed, but have low windows on either side of the wall. Thanks to careful measuring and a neighbor with good power tools, my husband cut the back piece to the same height as the bed’s side rails, and then drilled new holes to mount the drawer. The nightstand attaches to the bed following the original instructions.

I love the window treatments! So awesome! Did you make them?!

I want to install the same kind of nightstand attached to our Malm bed that we have but cannot figure out how to do it. Is it possible to send more detailed instructions and pictures of your project so that I could follow your lead? Before I saw your post, I had bought the single Expedit cube and had intended to mount it to the wall next to the bed in lieu of anything else. With the drawers under the bed, of course, we need something that will be useful but out of the way of pulling out the drawers underneath.

A simple solution if you don’t need nightstand drawers would be to saw down the legs of a couple of LACK end tables. Those could be shifted easily out of the way.when you need to get to the under bed storage.
