BYÅS Media Hack

BYAS Media Unit, hinges, metalic strip, nails, spray paint

Description: Instead of having the unit slide out as it was meant to be, I used hinges for the door to open downwards and added a magnetic strip to keep the door closed. Shelves provided can still be added.

I cut the back panel and nailed it into the unit so I can plug various inputs into it.

I spray painted the bottom and the shelf in the middle with lacquer paint. Interior shelves can be painted also.

I saw units similar like this from $400 to over $1200. Materials might be a bit different but it looks the same. This project cost me about $135 Canadian.

To answer the shelf questions (as I couldn’t find the answer anywhere either!) the internal width is just over 51cm. My Mission M7C2 centre speaker JUST fits and that is exactly 51cm wide. Internal height is just over 35.5cm.

Greetings. Looks great! I too am currently looking for an affordable tv console that will fit my center speaker and receiver. I guess I have the same question as the person above. Might I ask what the dimensions are of the middle shelving area? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated it! Thanks

I’ve been looking for the open shelf dimensions (width especially) for this TV stand for days.
Could you please take a measurement and provide it to me? I’d like to make sure my HTPC would fit.
