Godmorgon Revamp

Materials: Godmorgon sink base, Akurum/Nexus black/brown kitchen door, mirror, lack shelf, miter saw, glue, finish nails, hammer (or air nailer.)

Description:
I took a Godmorgon sink base (when it was only available in white or birch) and converted it to a wood veneer, black/brown front using Ikea Akurum/Nexus kitchen cabinet doors.

I just measured the Godmorgon drawer fronts and used the closest sized Nexus doors to replace the boring white, which in this case were two doors as for a Wall 12 x 39. The 39″ dimension works perfectly, but the 12″ dimension is slightly wider than the Godmorgon drawer front.

All you have to do is install the new front slightly lower on both the top and bottom drawer. This will leave you with a slight overhang on the bottom drawer, which you won’t even notice after installed.

I modified the inside of the drawer to accommodate my own plumbing/faucet, topped it with a Akurum cover panel used as countertop, mounted it directly to the wall using cleats that were anchored to the wall (instead of using the Godmorgon legs.)

I cut strips from the cover panel to fill in the gap between the cabinet and the wall (cabinet was 39″ and my space was 41″.) I also modified a Godmorgon mirror with back light and a Lack shelf to fit wall-to-wall. I am a kitchen & bath designer, so I wanted this to look custom, and not like I bought it off the showroom floor of Ikea.
