Bernhard chair to barstool
Materials: Bernhard dining chair
Description: Well, I recently created this for my home- a piece for the space off the Kitchen needed a BarStool- and since IKEA's "As-Is"/Returns area just happened to have this white Bernhard Dining chair for sale for $59.00 US (normally 139.00 US) I thought- what the heck- besides getting a piece of White Leather alone would cost more that that-
and then the cost to pay an Upholsterer??!!
fuggadaboudit!
So- this is what I created- a 30" tall barstool- with a Stainless Steel welded base-
brought to a magnificent "Mirror Finish" Polish by a local metal polisher I work with.
(Henry ROCKS!!)
Also- I recently added a IKEA Hacker section to my flickr site!

Love this - but where to get the base for chair?
ReplyDeleteHe WELDED it himself.................
ReplyDeleteDo you think this could be done with a snille chair? I need to get it to be a counter stool -- 24-26" high. Either on its standard base or on the swivel.
ReplyDeleteHey Randall, you don't to still have the legs for the Bernhard do you? I just picked up the seat at the as-is section today at Ikea...
