IKEA salad bowl sink

Materials: Blanda Blank

Description: When my husband and I remodeled our bathroom a few years ago, we wanted to make the most of a small space and stay within our tiny budget. He found an old drinking fountain assembly at a salvage shop, and thought we could retrofit it to accommodate a larger bowl of some sort. Voila, the 14" IKEA Blanda Blank serving bowl.

He drilled out the bottom of the bowl, mounted it to the drinking fountain wall bracket, added some necessary plumbing and we were in business. After four years it's still as good as new!

  1. Sweet use of such a utilitarian object. Truly inspiring.

Thank you Jules, for the great ideas, for hosting all of the grand and obtuse uses of Ikea items.

    Happy New Year!

  4. I used the same bowl for a sink hack in my small bathroom. The only difference was I used the small Ivar cabinet as a vanity

  8. Where did he find the faucet? Our house has a nightmare collection of pipe bits the builder put in to act as a faucet for the laundry room, and we've been looking for a replacement ever since we bought the place...
