Small DJ console
Materials: Ikea Corras Sidetable
Description: I converted an IKEA CORRAS bedside table to create a small DJ console for home parties.
The top of the table was partially cut out to build in the mixer and CD-controls. Other components were placed inside the table. The provided shelf was used to close the rear of the table and thus hide the wires.

That is fantastic!! I want to build one.
ReplyDeleteI've had those tables for years. At one time i rolled one into my studio and saw that 19" rackmount gear did fit perfectly. I never screwed them in though. (The wife would not be happy!)
ReplyDeleteGr8 job dear but adviced to make some ventelation or even cooling fans
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I might build one myself (no, make that two!). I have several high profile amplifiers that won't possibly fit in just one of those.
ReplyDeleteYes, ventilation is important because your equipment (especially power amplifiers) generate a substantial amount of heat when operating. I'd probably drill holes on the back cover for this purpose.
Depending on the amplifiers/quantity it may take quite a few large holes (there is a reason most amplifier racks are open on the back). The main thing is just checking how hot it gets compared to what the equipment in the rack is rated for.
ReplyDeletehow did you create that? can you give some tips?did you create it entirely by yourself or you just bought the mixer and the other consoles and you put them in that table?
