A DIY Wall Jewelry Organizer That Actually Works Better Than Expected

If you’ve ever dumped out an entire jewelry box at 7 AM searching for one matching earring, this post is for you.

Meet Gerry’s brilliant solution — a stylish, functional wall jewelry organizer built from an IKEA picture frame, a mirror, and a humble pegboard. Simple materials, zero clutter, total morning-stress-buster.

“I desperately needed something to organize my jewelry, mostly earrings, to avoid a search crisis every morning,” Gerry says.

She figured this out after using a pegboard to organize DIY tools. Then, the lightbulb moment: the same system works beautifully for jewelry.

What You’ll Need

  • RAM frame (50 x 70 cm) Ed note: The RAM is discontinued, but this IKEA hack should work with any standard 50×70 cm frame
  • Mirror, cut to 50 x 44 cm
  • Pegboard, cut to 50 x 26 cm
  • Spray paint (your color choice)
  • Pegboard hooks for hanging necklaces
  • A small basket for stud earrings

  1. Remove the cardboard backing and plastic window from the frame
  2. Paint your pegboard and let it dry completely
  3. Place the mirror and pegboard side by side inside the frame
  4. Secure both pieces using the small metal tabs at the back of the frame
  5. Add pegboard hooks for necklaces and a tiny tray for studs

The Result

wall-mounted jewelry organizer that keeps earrings, necklaces, and studs organized and on display — all within a frame that looks intentional and put-together on your wall.

What we love most about this IKEA hack? The jewelry organizer sits right next to a mirror inside the same frame. You can try on pieces and see exactly how they look without taking a single step. Getting dressed in the morning honestly doesn’t get easier than that.

“So happy!” Gerry exclaims. And we totally understand why.

Make It Your Own

A few easy ways to customize this build:

  • Paint the pegboard a bold color to match your bedroom palette
  • Add a small shelf below the frame for perfume or rings
  • Use decorative hooks instead of standard pegboard hardware for a more polished look

Whether you have a massive jewelry collection or just a few everyday favorites, a DIY wall jewelry organizer like this keeps your morning routine stress-free and your space looking great. All it takes is a frame, a little creativity, and about an hour of your time.
