Andrea tipped me on this bookcase (they look like billies) modified to have 96 channels of DMX controlling many tiny red, green, blue LEDs. Click to play the video. Impressive effect.

this is too cool to put into words!!
ReplyDeleteDMX? I was expecting rap...I can see the seizures this would induce on unsuspecting guests.
ReplyDeleteBilly has a back to them... these don't... Very cool either way
ReplyDeleteWhat is the song called? Thx
ReplyDeleteI'm glad my bookcase doesn't do that or I'd never get any work done.

ReplyDeleteIf I don't misinterpret what I found on youtube, the song is called "Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24" performed by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteIn the PDF, the maker describes that the cases came with backs that he didn't use -- however the backs are milky-opaque plastic (the stuff that's used as diffuser for his lights, to be exact), rather than hardboard, so it's not a Billy after all. However, this could be done with a Billy as well, obviously.
