“Got an easy one, but think it looks pretty hot. I got 3 IKEA Stolmen 43″ chests, and put them together to make a long TV bench, removed the drawer from the centre bottom chest, and added the Trettioen LED lighting strip to the back to give a nice glow when watching TV at night.”

Brett has yet to add some hinges to make the old drawer front into a door that folds down.

Other ways to hack the Stolmen:

- As a floating credenza for the bedroom or as a console.

- As poles for a floating TV when you don’t have the luxury of a TV stand

- As a media unit for a flat TV. Lots of storage for DVDs and other gadgets.

I’m in need of one last item, the Stolmen Aluminum Closet pole item number 700.602.84. It normally goes for $30 US dollars. I only need one to complete my already made ikea closet.

Brett (I hope that is your name),
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if ever you get bored with your Black Brown Stolmen Drawers I really really really want to buy one, just one, from you. I started putting my closet system together and now the black brown are discontinued and I can’t stand the white not to mention the shelf I have is black brown. Name your price. I know the original price is $90.00 and I know yours are used, but I do not care and will pay full price for it. PLEASE PLEASE!!!! I have looked everywhere. My email is [email protected]. Thank you for your consideration!!!

Anyone know if the stolmen chests are strong enough to sit on? I want to use them as window seats…

Anyone know if the stolmen chests are strong enough to sit on? I want to do a similar thing, but have the ends on either side of the TV work as window seats…

need some green plant ans also a vignet of 3 vases or candles or round black stones or something and get rid of the pictures…just leave on favorite on also put a floating shelf over top to add soemthing to the big empty wall and look at the way these shelves are decorated at ikea for inspiration – less is better…also adding a back panel may add some interest but that would have to be in the smae material as the base and go not farther then the new shelf…I think that would make it look pulled together kwim?
