Mini Mudroom from TARVA nightstands

Materials: Two Tarva Nightstands

I was looking for an inexpensive storage solution for behind my front door. I saw a wonderful mudroom Ikea hack using two TV consuls, but even one TV consul would have been too big for my space. I got on the Ikea website and found the Tarva Nightstand. It was perfect.

After building the nightstands, I screwed them together using scrap wood and then secured the unit to the wall. I made a new top for the nightstands out of stained 1×3 pine boards. I then made the top unit out of 1×2′s, 1×3′s, and 1×10′s. I dressed it up with a little bead board, crown molding, and new hardware on the nightstands. The perfect mini mudroom with space for coats, mail, purses, or whatever.
