Gorm to Faux Built-in

Gorm

Used some old Gorm Shelves and their bolts and new 1″ x 3″ pine from Home Depot to make the unit taller. Cut some of the shelves in half which provided an overlap that let me screw the side shelves onto the middle shelves. Used drywall screws to attach the unit to the wall in several places. Used some navy blue paint from the $5 oops section at Home Depot and there you have it, some inexpensive utility shelves pretending to be a built in bookcase.

Thanks for the idea. I’m not 100% certain, but is the rear of the shelves supported by the 1×3 pine? How did you support each shelf? Screwed into the shelves from the rear?

    Thanks
