Lifting up IKEA table for bed to fit with other beds

Materials: MALM Occasional table, wood, steel plates, saw and screwdriver

Description: We liked MALM Occasional table in oak, which went with our bedroom, but our non IKEA bed was to high.
Made an extension which I think look pretty and work well.
Moved the wheels from the table to a piece of wood by cutting out enough space for them.
Added extension to this piece fitting into the place where the wheels had been.

Got the wood covered by steel plates, folded by a local metalworker.
Could be done in copper or aluminium yourself, which is softer than steel.
Voila!

So many awesome ideas! My only suggestion would be to start using spell check and proofreading better! Like this sentence; “Added extension to this piece fitting into the place where the wheels had bin. ” It should read “been”. If you are gonna have a blog, it should be well-written, as well as containing interesting ideas.

@Frode – Really sharp looking solution – I love the idea of using copper.

Oh, and just ignore Anonymous’s post – most of my fellow Americans couldn’t even spell “Norwegian” correctly, much less find Norway on a map.

    Sad, but true.

    Thanks for sharing.

Most of the people on this site seem to be of higher than average intelligence, and I’m pretty sure they can find Norway on a map whether they’re Americans or not. There was no need to go there as apparently you missed the part where Anon above used the word “gonna”.

I love it! I totally was thinking of this very idea – well the raising up of the table. We too have a high bed because our room is so small we have storage built underneath. Thanks for the info, I am gonna give it a try! Great job.
