Hacker Help: Double Sliding Doors for the Besta?

Materials: Besta Cabinets & doors

Description: We have this Besta unit with two doors that we’d love to convert into sliding doors. Anyone know of a track system we could adapt? Thanks!

Hello! Were you able to make this work? I have used Besta as an upper cabinet in a bathroom and just realized I can’t open the doors without hitting my ceiling mounted lights – doh! Now I need to find a way to make the 2 doors slide past each other. Any ideas?

I tried the faktum link above but didn’t get anything, and I know about the Best sliding rail but it would only let me have one door :(

If no one has thought of a better solution, consider using the Kvartal panel tracks and hanging light-weight panels instead of doors. We used this on our closet in our RV to give us easier access without adding to the weight.

Did you find a solution here? I was looking to do the same thing but couldn’t figure out how to have double sliding doors..

Thanks! Unfortunately the first option won’t work since you’d need double the space for them to open. I had thought about the Integral sliding rails but thought I’d have to buy the tallest ones and wasn’t willing to spend 130€! Maybe the small ones will work though, I didn’t realize that. Thanks!!

maybe you want to try the faktum/integral sliding rails, available here:

looks like the length of 120cm matches the besta very well, but i don’t know how to trim the height of the side rails. better check the instruction manual!

let us know if and how you made it work :-)

keep calm and hack on – Alex/Austria

  6. Peter says:

I think you could use two of these rails: to make each door slide independently.

  7. This looks clean and though it looks like as though it will consume more space, I would choose this one for its robust look and color.
