Another IKEA retro Lack hack

Materials: Lack shelving unit

Description: I really love what I saw from this post.

I pretty much used all the same material and followed all the steps as he suggested. But instead of walnut veneer for the panels, I used some plywood with holes and painted a cover of dark walnut wood stain. I tried to make it resemble this CB2 TV console.

I also got some really nice dimension measures from this link.

Aren’t the doors rather loose in that relatively wide channel?

I think both panels are sharing the same track… overlapping in the center a little. That’s probably why the track is so wide. I would just suggest doing something to cover up the exposed hardware on top of the unit at each end. Good job overall!

  4. I absolutely LOVE this! I have this shelving unit as my tv stand, definitely could use those doors on it!

    “…plywood with holes…”

For future reference, that is usually called pegboard, and it is hardboard, not plywood.

Where did you get the legs for it?

  9. Anonymous says:

Love it!! Have been trying to find legs in Australia no such luck can anyone point me in the right direction?!
