Bringing 90s Ikea Shelving into the 21st Century
Materials: Besta
Description:
1. Remove the door and hardware.
2. Sand and prime all surfaces.
3. Fill any holes with wood filler or spackle.
4. Paint the Besta your desired colour.
3. For the doors, use Frog Tape to create a stencil before painting the doors with a contrasting colour.
See a step by step tutorial of the stencilled media unit.

These are pretty, but I don't see how they're really a "hack"-- just the same shelves but painted. The few things that are actually changed-- the feet and the lights-- aren't even mentioned in the how-to instructions.
ReplyDeleteTypically I'm first to the game with the whole "this isn't a hack" thing, and damn proud of that too btw, but this one does seem to have a quite a bit of work put into it. The link has more info and details.
DeleteFor the record, I think that's BONDE, not BESTA.
