DIY IKEA INGO Sewing Table

Materials: Ikea INGO or other dining/kitchen table with a rail under the tabletop (this tutorial is not for Ikea tables where you pick a top piece and legs separately – you need that rail underneath in order to attach the support beams that will hold your machine)

Description: Marta has a fantastic tutorial on a sewing table where your machine lies flush against the table top. It makes sewing so much easier, not to mention less aches and paints for the shoulders.~ Jules

See the fantastic step by step tutorial on Marta’s blog.

Thank you for this great idea. Hubby and I knocked one up today. Cant wait to set up my sewing room and get sewing.

Home Depot sells smooth round bolt caps for a few cents each. My husband put them on the table he made (actually adapted a garage sale kitchen table)for me.

It’s a brilliant idea, but you need to do something about those bolts before you cut open your knees/legs on one of them :)

  4. Very nice build!! congrats

This is GREAT! I’m just about to open a design studio and I am definitely going to make this for my sewing machine table! Thanks for the post!
