Reupholstered Ikea Strandmon chair and painted frame


Materials: UNG DRILL oval black Frame and STRANDMON wing chair &footrest

Description: The Ikea chair was reupholstered in white leather with a silver studded trim.

The footrest was reupholstered with chevron zigzag material i bought from amazon.

The Ikea frame was painted in white (3 coats) and then given a gloss finish (1 coat of spray).

The Oleg (deer head) was purchased from WhiteFauxTaxidermy on Etsy.

The printed cushion is inspired by vintage Egyptian movie posters of the 1950's and I bought from mishmaoul.com

the black & white coushin is from Ikea (last season's so it was discounted).

The white sheepskin Rug is also from Ikea (LUDDE)

And finally the decorative dog was from a local store.

  3. I'm sorry you haven't gotten much love from mean-spirited, anonymous commenters here (seriously, kids, if you have nothing nice to say ...), but I think this is an incredible, charming space you've created. This whole corner looks like something from a boutique hotel.

    Love the chevron reupholstered footstool, the nail-head trimmed chair and that pillow!

  5. The best part is it means the Strandmon is starting to be available. I've been waiting for it in the USA since I saw it briefly feature in the online catalog in July!

  7. Looking at the "before" picture, I'd say you did an excellent job giving this couch set a new look. It looks a lot livelier now than it originally did.
