Aside from being downright ugly and silly looking - why would you make a lamp from a toy that someone might be tempted to play with that includes a burning hot bulb?

ReplyDeleteSurprised that someone bothered to pour criticism over a pretty fun revamp, and also point at things like the creator already described: "outgrown baby toy" indicates that no one seems tempted to play, and these lights is as someone said never warmer than the Swedish summer of 2012.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, I am quite annoyed with such criticism on this site towards people who try to encourage the creative thought process. Criticism as a whole is purely a misconception to these "haters". The feedback box is misunderstood as a means to reply and encourage or give an opinion with a deeper meaning. Not just to discourage or put someones ideas down when you are to lazy to come up with anything else.
ReplyDeleteSecond this is a great idea and the last time I checked, a child that would be "interested" in this would have the height to get close to touching it. Not if it was in their play pen or 2 ft off the ground that would be one thing. It is primarily the same concept as a baby mobile (not sure if that is correct) which is hanging above a crib for mainly the baby to have something to look at. I for one think this is a fun and creative idea. The only thing that I would express concern for is the heat on which the cubes or other materials would be exposed to. Considering it is a CFL one should not be to worried about it. It makes great decor for an item in a childs room that is typically not very creative to begin with!
A very clever and original idea! I tip my hat to the reuse of the lamp skeleton. In fact, I tip my hat to the whole concept. Well done!

ReplyDeleteNice idea, the red and the yellow seems to belong together and really nice that the cord have the same thickness as the steel cable of the babytoy.
