Saralisa fabric and graffiti fusion as wall decor

Materials: Ikea Saralisa fabric, Ikea fabric frame, permanent marker (ink pen), stapler

Description:
1. I cut a 24" sized square from the fabric and stretched it on the fabric frame using a stapler.

2. I attached it to the wall.

3. Drawing with a permanent marker I extended the pattern on the wall until it reached the desired shape.

It's hard to stop drawing but "less is more", let the framed picture be dominant.

  1. Wow, did you free-hand draw it. That is some serious skills!

  3. I Love the look of this wall art, but as a warning from personal experience, it can take 4-6 coats of paint to cover permanent marker on the walk because it bleeds through the paint quite a bit.

    1. There are paint products available that pre-treat the area to be painted. Use them to seal and cover paints or stains, including grease marks or oil. A marker might not be as much of a problem as it used to be.

I used Kilz in the 80s to cover up a splashed mayonnaise stain up on my kitchen ceiling (top wasn't screwed down when the jar was picked up to but back into the fridge) and it worked perfectly to seal that oil!

  4. Thanks for posting my work and the comments :)

Genni, i suppose the result depends on the type of the marker (or the wallpaint as well). After all i painted only once, the pen i used worked perfectly.

  8. Wow, I like it! It reminds me of those patterns you always draw when you're talking to someone on the phone, that would be impossible to draw if you intended to do it.
