Love it! Love it! A tutorial would be welcome, if you have it.
One of the most refined hacks I have seen. Well done.
yes a tutorial in detail would be most welcome!!
That's beautiful. I nominate for hack of the year.
Very well made, but looks like a desk from the back, not an island.
Yes please! Tutorial... It's beautiful
Hey Guys, Thanks for the positive comments, i have made a tutorial and will post the link in the next day on this post. Thanks Aaron
This one of the best islands I have seen. I really like it. I am curious about the clearance distance at the sides & how comfortable you find them. Just looking at your pics I am now thinking I might be able to fit in a decent island after all. Well done you ....
good job, the smoothest i ever seensuper super cool
I'm about to pour my first concrete counter slabs this weekend, to put on top of *my*IKEA counters--what additional reinforcement did you feel was necessary? Seems to me that the weak point is the feet... but I'd be interested to hear what you did to increase their strength. Looking forward to more pictures!
Hey Guys,I have now finished the tutorial for the kitchen island, Enjoy and good luck!http://www.behance.net/gallery/White-Concrete-Wrapped-Ikea-Kitchen-Island/4670319You will see the answers to the re-inforcement issues here. The clearaance distance for the overhang is 200mm but i would actually do 300mm if you could spare more space.Cheers
Holy crap, I'm even more impressed after reading your tutorial. I wouldn't attempt this in a million years. Well done, Aaron.
Stunning!!! I love what you did and I always thought it would be great to use the Besta push openers for Rational drawers but didn't know if it would work...! Now I know it works! And congratulations because this island in the kitchen is stunning! So thank you for this beautiful hack!!!
This is completely awesome!
AaronYou are a hands on design genius ... tell and show more of your (kitchen) work !
