Kura Firetruck

Materials: Kura Bed

Description: My second son has a passion for cars, so the idea of recycling the bed of his older brother and turn it into a firetruck. I have added some plywood to create the door and the window, I set on the wheels of an old toy car and have painted in red, grey and white the different part of the "truck".

I have equipped the bed with a little fire extinguisher, flashlights on the top, a garden hose and some stickers. On the wall I painted a skyline with bright acrylic colors and in the sky I made the "Ikea sun" shine!!

  12. to me, what finishes off perfectly is the sun!!!

io credo che la cosa che completa a perfezione questa cameretta sia la lampada a forma di sole!!! molto carino, peccato che non durerà molti anni, visto che il ragazzo crescerà velocemente...

    1. Si l'idea l'ho avuta da Paint Your Life anche se quello era un letto a castello ed ho messo degli accessori veri invece di adesivi. Grazie dei complimenti

  17. What an extraordinary idea!!! I absolutely love it!!! And I,m gonna copy it for my son when he's older. I still wonder how did you decorate the wall behind? Was it your own painting or stickers? All together it makes an awsome space for little fireman =)

  18. Yes, the wall is my own painting. First I designed the skyscrapers with a pencil using IKEA Lack shelves to get their silhouettes. Then I painted them with acrylic colors and finally I retraced the outlines with a permanent black marker

  20. What an amazing room! Well done. Could I ask what type of paint you used to paint the bed frame and panels. I have noticed that the frame is pre treated with clear acrylic lacquer when you buy the bed. Thanks

  21. This is amazing! Is it bad that I'm a 28 year old woman who would totally love to go play in this thing? Definitely keeping it in mind for when I have kids.

  22. What kind of paint did you use for the frame and panels? Our 4 yr old saw this and wanted me to try it with the kura we got this weekend. Thanks!
