Lamplig chopping board counter top

Materials: Lamplig chopping board

Description: I took 3 Lamplig chopping boards and set them on top of my old counter top so the lip of the chopping board hangs over the counter. It looks nicer than the old counter top and is a good option for renters.

Please note that I did not glue the boards together or to the existing counter top and the boards can warp a bit depending on the weather.

keep oiling the boards. When the moisture is restored it will flatten out. The board cost as much as a value meal; awesome fix. I’m going to live with the overhand also ;-)

My cutting board was oiled on first use, then developed cracks, then bowed, is now on the verge of breaking in half. And IKEA won’t return it. Interested if yours are holding up. Let us know.

Great idea for a renter. it seems that ugly countertops are manditory in a rented house these days! Very inventive fix

Mine hasn’t warped. I wonder if you could use sticky back velcro to secure the boards to the counter? The sticky could be removed when you move out…

Good idea for a temporary fix! So many landlords need to update kitchens!

I look forward to seeing how this works out – my Lamplig chopping board warps like crazy…
