Ball of light


Materials: Stranne Standard Light

Description: Paint the stems in black satin. Stick small woollen balls to the light ends with liquid white glue. Easy, cheap and you cannot see the yellow plastic rods.

  2. Ah, that's so cool! I love those balls, I'd like to know more about those. Personally I would paint the stems dark green and make flowers for the lights.

  4. Nice hack, I like it!

    P.S. Previous Anonymus and other folks who do the same : please, please, use the punctuation. It's very important for the understanding of the text; why they exist otherwise? Using texting language could be bearable (it is justified with the kind of phones that don't have the whole keyboard, but on the computers, smartphones or blackberries, no), missing punctuation is really bad.
    Sorry, I had to say.

    For everyone else, yes, my English is not perfect, it's not my first langage. Doesn't that prove that this site interestes everyone in the world? Also, because my English is not that perfect, maybe I need punctuation to understand better.
    By the way, my critic wasn't the man subject of my comment.

    2. anonymous - maybe ur critic wasn't the main point but it certainly took the most words in ur comment .. i read comments every day that aren't written the way i would write them .. i don't comment precisely becoz (!) we're all different and from different cultures and languages .. sms lingo or abbrev's (!) is just another language .. learn it !! and btw (!) in english u say *no, my english isn't perfect* (not yes, my english isn't perfect - which is an oxymoron at best) ............ it's not my first language either ! ..

      so now .. about that lamp .. lovely isn't it annette .. (ignore him/her) .. hihihihi ..

  11. Alrighty then can we get back to the subject of these mysterious 'woollen balls?' What precisely are they and where might they be sold? I ask what they are since there may be a difference of names according to country... as well as places they might be sold. Sorry but I just have no clue what a woollen ball is and might like to make one.

    Well done a nice lamp in my opinion.

  12. for sure you can "build" some your own way using a blowing balloon (is it their correct name?sorry i don't know. the ones with helium inside, but you don't need the gas. only breathepump them), then you cover with vinilic glue and wool, or paper, or rice paper, or cashmere (why not?) or fabric. when dry, you explode the balloon. if you choose the right dimension, or the correct amount of breath, or a spherical shape, you will have your wooden balls.
    or you can have any shape you like, for example dinosaurs for a kid's room....
    same than chinese lanterns.

    ps i would choose another palette of colors than the one you used, but it looks nice
