Materials: Expedit and Patrull
Description: My cats litter boxe is not very aesthetic, I wanted to hide it somewhere. Also I hate to see cat litter scattered around. So I thought putting litter box inside something would resolve my problems.
Here is my solution.
Take an Expedit 2x4 (701.030.85)
Assemble top 4 shelves. Use one remaining shelf as a door.
Use one pack of Patrull kid locks to clasp door.
Look at the pics and you will get the idea.
No more cat litters around my room :)

Mmmmmmm...not convinced as it is still very visible but as long you're happy with it :-)

ReplyDeleteYou can still see the litter box and those ugly child locks, I would just box the whole thing in and cut a little entrance hole for the cat.
ReplyDeleteStateside, there is a litter box called Clevercat that amounts to a sizeable plastic storage bin with the entrance cut out of the top. It is great for litter control and, as long as your cat is able to comfortably jump onto the top, it is a non-issue. The entry area on this hack is about the same as my kitties have for their boxes and my 18 pound big boy has no problems with it. I might suggest that you put something that doesn't slip on the top, like a small carpet square, for traction. Other than that, it's a unique solution.

Since it is hidden, wouldn't it make more sense to take the cover of the litter box off?

ReplyDeleteYes it would be nicer to complete close and make a hole for the cat. But it requires a precise cutting to fit.
I think owner unlocks the lock, when he is not home so cat can go do its thing, and when he is home he can lock it and avoid eye sore and can unlock it whenever cat chooses to go?
