Ekby Valter lamp
Materials: IKEA EKBY VALTER bracket, IKEA HEMMA cord, set drill. screws, plug connector
Description: Only one hole needs to be drilled, all other holes are already on the shelf bracket. Basically thread the cord, and connect the plug connector so you can plug it in the socket. And find a place where you can enjoy it. I love our lamp!

smart!!
ReplyDeletehave done the same thing with an old ikea flowerlamp ower a flower i have in a dark corner.
ReplyDeleteBut i put a little more effort into mine i at least painted the bracket white ;)
It is a matter of preference, not effort:) I did't want it white. But frankly, I do love the fact that I have a great looking lamp which was done in 10 minutes.
DeleteAwesome I love this idea. I've just bought two amazing shades from individual sellers here http://tworedtrees.co.uk/for-the-home
ReplyDeleteThey'd look great on this.

ReplyDeleteYep, these are made with textile cable. Much nicer and more flexible, but they are also 4-8 times more expensive than mine was. Especially considering the fact that I bought the HEMMA cord when Ikea was selling the coloured ones out, and it was 200 Forints, which is less than a dollar:)I love Tilka! But I also adore my lamp, that cost me less then 5 dollars overall:)
