Billy becomes TV stand
Materials: Billy Height extension unit
Description: So one of my buddies bought a hundred plus year old house with some built-ins in the bedroom, problem was the TV components couldn't fit on the narrow shelves. After spending two hours in Ikea the three of us had the solution: a Billy extension.
We began by cutting the sides and back down to 10" high so there would be enough room for the TV on top. Next we assembled the extension as the instructions indicated. We then used the hole for the screw in back as a center point to cut out a 1 ½ circle to run the wires to the TV. Two screws to anchor our hack to the wall and custom TV stand is done!
See more of the Billy TV stand.

@codenamezero - I think that's the idea; they said the built-ins weren't deep enough.
ReplyDeleteyou can get flat head power extenders on amazon that's white, then it won't stick out and stand out. http://www.amazon.com/GE-50360-feet-Hugger-Extension/dp/B000B75RDW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1356925017&sr=8-3&keywords=flat+power+strip
