Materials: Hopen 6 drawer Chest
Description: This is a fairly easy hack that can be tailored to your own taste and style. The Hopen Chest has drawers that are partially see through. I wanted to create a pattern that would create some privacy for my son's unmentionables. I simply created a diamond pattern on my computer and printed it on several sheets of card stock. I meticulously cut out each diamond and stuck it onto the contact paper which I had measured and pre-cut. I then mounted the sticky side to the inside of the drawer and viola there you have it. My Hopen is hopping!!!

DeleteIs there a gap between the framing and glass tha you slid this into? I noticed on a similar project, it still showed the framing behind each glass panel and the picture was within the clear part.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure exactly what you are asking. But there I will try to answer my best. In the Hopen chest there is no gap. I just cut pieces of contact paper to the size of the glass and applied the diamond shapes and then applied the sticky side of the contact paper directly to the inside of the glass. Hope that helps. Lesley
Whitnee, would the drawers still be see-through without the diamond shapes? In other words, could I apply the contact paper only and still create some privacy, without the added style of your nice diamonds?
