From Dish Rag Holder to Spray Bottle Caddy
Materials: IKEA wooden dish rag holder, 5/8'' spade bit, spray bottles
Description: This is a simple hack that uses those $0.99 light wooden dish rag holders found in bins at our favorite materials store, Ikea (I can not, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, find the official Ikea name of these things, but we've all seen them at the big blue and yellow).
After reorganizing under the sink, I no longer needed a dish rag holder, but I did need to use the vertical space in the cabinet to store other goods.
I realized, conveniently, that the holes in the dish rag holder were the perfect size for spray bottle triggers to hang from. I got out my 5/8'' spade bit, drilled a hole between each of the existing ones (there were 3 originally), for a total of 5, and hung it up under the sink.
Voila! Spray bottle holder! All the bottles are up and out of the way, and organized for easy finding. Can't beat that for $0.99!

OMG this is a genius idea for under the sink. Will be implementing.
ReplyDeleteMight have to do this as well. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeletei like the idea! would be great to mount on the inside of the cabinet door so you can see all of the bottles when you open the cabinet too.
ReplyDeleteWow, that was an even better idea!
DeleteVery clever!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea, too! Great use of the unused space!
ReplyDeletei like the idea but i wanted to let you know that you have your dishwasher drain line plumbed incorrectly. you have the drain line after the trap so what is happening is the waste gases are coming into your dishwasher. so does yoru dishwasher smell?
ReplyDeleteyou should replumb it so it is before the trap. easy.
It is before the trap, if you look closely it's just wrapping around the waste pipe near the wall. It enters the top tailpiece under the basket.
DeleteLove this....very creative!
ReplyDeleteIf you mount it with a hinge on the side closer to you, and a block for it to rest on, on the far side, you can even make it swing out so you can see better :D
ReplyDeleteHello, could someone be so kind to reveal the name of the used product? Thank you!
