Hacked IKEA bookshelf

Materials: EXPEDIT Door Hacks

Description: We added some nice raw wood doors to our EXPEDIT bookshelves which we stained to match our furniture, allowing us to display/hide books and objects as we wish. We also hacked a smaller EXPEDIT for a vinyl listening station.

~ Karla Jean Davis & James Abercrombie, Stone Mountain, GA

not sure if awesome, or just looks like it because of the iphone effects…

  2. Looks cool. Not sure if you have magnet catches or what. I would consider drilling a small hole and adding some small leather handles or even go as simple as some short leather string about the width of a shoelace with a knot tied in it for a drawer pull.

Nice! How do you made the doors? It’s wood?

This article needs a bit more explaining. Looks interesting.

I agree – a more in depth explanation would be better.

That being said, really well executed – love it! (and love the idea of leather door pulls)

    Not enough information.

Would be nice if you explained HOW you added the doors. Otherwise this article is useless…

Agreed. It’s nice, but it would be more helpful to know how it was executed so those of us who are in awe can try to replicate it.
