Minimalistic DVD rack in an Expedit
Materials: NEGLINGE 2x, EXPEDIT (doesn't matter which one), plank
Description: I wanted to use as little space of my Expedit as possible to store my DVD's. I don't have that much DVD's, but I wanted to be able to see which ones I have. Instead of just putting a second row in front of the others.
I made myself a plank of 33 cm x 15 cm and glued two Neglingle candlelights beneath it; and ta-da, I got myself a nice DVD storage.
I realize it's not exactly an outstanding hack, but hey, it's my first. :)

I've been using my expedit as a book shelf and struggling with not being able to see the back row, this is a great idea!

ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteNice idea. I used a leftover cardboard box, roughly cut it to the correct width, taped a slightly higher piece of cardboard to the back of it so the DVDs don't fall off. 3 minute hack. I still can't believe Ikea dropped the DVD inserts for the Expedit shelves.
ReplyDeleteIngenious in all its simplicity. Thanks for sharing!

Any tips on where to find boards for this? Or should I just wander into a Home Depot, find something 6" deep and have it cut into 13" pieces
ReplyDeleteSimple but brilliant use of space, great 'hack'
