Hacker help: Any suggestions on what to do with Micke corner desk?

Materials: Micke corner workstation

I’ve recently moved and my new place doesn’t have a normal shape and is also too small for the Micke desk.

So I’m hoping some Ikea hacker out there will have some cool ideas for what I should do with this great desk.

What do you want to do with it? Do you need anything in the apartment? More bookshelves? A cat tree? (I love the cat climbing walls people have posted!) Storage for something else?

  2. Oh mama, I would store my makeup collection there!

Maybe convert it to a liquor cabinet? Put some doors above the desktop with some LED backlighting inside.

You may want to post a pic of the space you want it in otherwise it’s hard to say

  5. Anne31 says:

maybe a corner cabinet to put a sink in a bathroom? With a rod and a curtain to close down (to put a trash can or laundry basket for example)…

  6. KC says:

A corner media center? A sewing/craft desk? You could put three mirrors in the back and have a wonderful 3 way mirror…though, that’s more for someone who puts on make up…but still…

Make it lower by taking legs off and use it as a plant step?

Could be useful in the kitchen?

Most of the parts could also be used on a straight desk.

  8. Jenny says:

You say you moved to a smaller apartment, so I assume you want to make a smaller desk. Find an Ikea tabletop the same or similar depth to the Micke desk, then reconfigure the leg parts to be like one of the smaller Micke desks.

  9. Erin says:

I have a straight micke desk that I put the Hutch on the floor and used as a bookcase.
