Vinyl lovers storage unit and DJ console

Materials: Expedit and Molger legs

Description: Simple !

I took a 5 x 1 Expedit, put it on its side and installed some 10 inch Molger cabinet legs (they go beyond the back a few inches).

The key to this hack is reinforcement. When I use an Expedit I always put it together with wood glue. Makes a huge difference. The Molger was attached to a piece of scrap wood that I grabbed from As-Is for $1, then attached to the Expedit. I used gorilla glue and bolts. It is sturdy and there is no chance of collapse.

Lots of style and storage for $80

Enjoy !

  1. Why the legs? It looks like it would fit the space better without.

  2. I like this idea and might try something similar for my young adult daughter, who is getting ready to set up a DJ station.

I think that the legs are so that it's at an easier height to spin records.

  3. I think this looks great, and I like the legs. The two light colors and the way it is built make it look clean and chic. Good job!

  4. If you were to fill this full of vinyl I would be worried about sturdiness. We use an expedite for our vinyl and it bows a little under the weight. You may want a third leg in the middle for more support.
