Expedit-passage, room divider
Materials: Expedit 5x5 & 2x2
Description: The 4 edges of the 5x5 (horizontal and vertical became the posts and the top and bottom was constructed with the edges of the 2x2. It is the split / gate between 2 of our rooms.
The second photo shows the gate with view on a normal Expedit 5x5, the rest are the hacks.

Fantastic hack !!!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...need more details! This would be perfect for my little place -- needs more of a seperation of space. Where did the 2x2 pieces go exactly? I'm assuming the a 2x2 side was used at the top and bottom of each of the 2x5 areas, but how'd you get the additional piece for the top of the passageway? Or is it just painted to match? Confused.
ReplyDeletei like it very much! you could put some more picture!! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea if you and everyone else who uses it is very short. I'm six feet tall... those 5x5s are several inches short of six feet. I can already tell I'd hit my head every time I walked through. Also, make sure the arch is structurally secure before you install these - the hollow Expedit sections will not support any weight the way a true post will.
ReplyDeleteSimple but a great entranceway idea. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteVery smart. Looks well finished.
