Blue Deck Chairs

Materials: Ikea chair

Description: Ikea has funny names for their furniture and I purchased these chairs so long ago I don't remember the name of them. They came with stretch fabric on them and when the fabric fell apart I had the frames only; which I kept because I knew I could do something with them eventually.

I was inspired by Alex - who posted his own Emmabo chair on Ikeahackers and so I can't say this is my original idea, but I loved his idea so much I transferred it to my own chairs.

I cut strips of 1"x2" wood into 26" strips. Stained them blue and used ¾" electrical clips to secure to my frame. I also stained the metal frame to blend in and voila - new chairs. Thanks Alex, wherever you are, for the fantastic idea!
