Pallet desk

Materials: 4 Vika Curry legs + 1 pallet + 5mm thick ply wood + floor boards

Description: My plan was to create the cheapest and the most functional desk I can. (finally I have spent about 30 euros)

But the great idea with the pallet is the desk surface is doubled thanks to a large storage space

  2. Is there a place to store tweezers?

Because you're going need them to remove all the splinters...

  3. Great idea!! I think I might simplify it just a bit then paint a design on it. Thanks for the inspiration!!

  4. Where on earth do you get pallets that look that nice?

  5. I believe most wooden pallets are made from pressure treated wood. Which could mean a lot of pesticides leaching out of your desk. Just be careful.

    1. Couldn't be more wrong! Look at it, its plain wood and the treatment it could have received its not the pressure one, so no pesticides

  6. Good cheap design. Only problem is that it looks cheap. It also doesn't help that I work in a warehouse, so this wasn't exactly a welcome sight.

  7. legs don't look strong. it is still attractive though.

  8. Those legs are quite strong. I used them to make a rather large gaming table with 6' X 3' sheet of 3/4" plywood. The legs can be unscrewed from the base plate making it easy to break down and store in the garage.

  9. Always let wood show.
I feel so sad to see paint hide the beauty of wood.

  10. I like it - simple and effective. Agree about the splitenrs though! A quick sanding and a bit of varnish though and you shouldn't have any problems...

  11. I'm a big fan of DIY pallet furniture.. so naturally, I love this! The rustic/industrial look isn't for everyone.. and obviously it was sanded down.

    Thanks for the inspiration!
