Lack Book shelf

Materials: Lack

Description: To construct the bookshelf I took several Lack shelves. The challenge was to cut them to the right size. Therefore, I had to remove the end-caps by heat and, after cutting, replace them.

To allow precise assembly I installed first a chipboard wall.

To achieve a higher weight tolerance of many books, I used aluminum pipes, placed as seen on the pics.

Anon #1 – be appreciative of the idea. Your comment was uncalled for and rude.

Original Hacker – Great idea! I have struggled for so long on how to modify the size of the lack furniture. Now I see how to do it. Thanks so much!

  3. uhh… Anonymous #1, you do know there’s a 5 photo upload limit, don’t you?
And …. “Play nice. Be appreciative of another’s efforts.”

Wow Anonymous, how rude! You are not Alex’s client! If it was my hack I wouldn’t be in a hurry to help you. The correct way to request more (free)information is “I’m a little uncertain on how this was constructed, if you have a chance would you mind posting some further instructions”. If you don’t understand something, acknowledge it rather than seeking to blame others.

Some more photos would have been nice as well as, more in-depth instructions as well. Not being a mind reader, I cant figure out how this was done.

  6. Nice!
I want to modify the length of some lack shelves I have and your techique seems great.
So you glued a chipboard piece to the end-cap of the shelf and then glued the whole thing together?
