Air urchin
Materials: regolit lamp shade, yarn and crochet hook
Description: With some left over yarn I started a circular geometric crochet pattern with a globe shape and applied to the lamp! Simple, cheap and super cute!

Beautiful fixture...I really like the concept. I think it might look even better if it hung a little lower from the ceiling more like a pendant fixture:)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to know the stitch pattern you used for this. It's awesome. I'm an ultra beginner with crochet but an intermediate knitter. Guess I could do something similar knitting.
ReplyDeletethis is lovely, thanks for sharing

But how do the lamp get in???? Maybe stupid question :-)
ReplyDeleteThe pattern is super simple. I'll try to explain it: mainly is 1 double crochet (dc), chain 3, 1 dc connected by chain stitches increasing one st every round until the middle and then decreasing one st. I worked it in the round until the deceasing started and then back and forwards so I could put the lamp inside (@lavendel). With the lamp inside I sewed the top part. You can totally do it with knitting, of course!
