Materials: SIGNUM (500.351.15)
Description: A relatively simple hack. I was frustrated with the area above my radiator being useless, and due to an awesome sale, I got two SIGNUMS for about 12 dollars CAD total.
I ended up using only one of them, and I was looking at other uses for it. Then I realized that I was storing most of the stuff for my Xbox 360 in a cardboard box, and tried to see if the controller would fit the rack. It fit perfectly.
So I just mounted the posts to an old shelf, and installed the SIGNUM opposite to how it normally would be. Had it been under my table, it would have been upside down.
The result? I have a pretty cool rack for my controllers and whatnot.

ReplyDeleteHang it upside down under a coffee table Depending on the coffee table, it should be mostly hidden and within reach of when you want to play.
ReplyDeleteDon't be silly Anon2 - a tray like this can keep your cables out from lying around and hanging off the shelf, and it can keep your controllers up off of the countertop so you can use the flat part of the surface for something else - like games or DVDs, you know?
ReplyDeleteThe controllers are smooth plastic and any slight bump would probably make them slide off. Turning it upside down gives the front and back of the shelf a way to help prevent this. Just my thoughts though.
ReplyDeleteI keep my controllers in a drawer in my coffee table but keep the chargers upstairs in my office closet. The metal frame shelfs let the controller slide around when I am looking for something.
Agreed lol, why dont they just sit in the shelf, how is that any neater?!
ReplyDeleteGame controllers have a way of sliding off shelves and onto the ground. The shelf would seemingly solve that problem.
ReplyDeleteI've the same problem and with the controllers just on the shelf they will move around and get knocked off. They just tend to look messy. This looks much tidier, must do it myself.
ReplyDeleteIt would be more impressive to bend the loops up to cradle the controller and possibly allow this to be wall-mounted, saving a lot of space and displaying the controllers as well.
ReplyDeleteLike the idea but won't the heat ruin the contollers? Thinking squeaky/creaky thumbsticks maybe. Just a thought.

ReplyDeleteI am headed to Ikea this weekend and plan to buy a long LACK shelf for above my entertainment stand. I would love to attach one or two of these under it for all of our controllers!
