When iMac goes to work

Materials: 1 LACK Wall shelf unit, 1 LACK Wall shelf, 2 CAPITA Bracket, 1 DALFRED Bar Stool

Description: First of all it's necessary an iMac 27"!
If you are looking for a workstation comfortable and elegant, suitable for a small space, this is the solution for you.

You only need a Lack series, especially a wall shelf unit, a wall shelf and brackets.

I choose black version but there are many more..

I worked on the ground to assemble shelfs and brackets. Then I put in vertical and fix to the wall.

At last, I placed very carefully the iMac, mouse, keyboard, hd and I sat on the stool.

It's done!

PS. Ikea garants 3kg for shelf, so I prefer to fix 2 staff under the iMac's shelf.

  1. I love the clean finish... the chrome pipe gives it a classy finish

  2. It looks great but I would worry about the ergonomics; working for any lengthy time on that setup would be painful for wrists and back.

  3. That has carpal tunnel syndrome written all over it... Pretty cool-looking though!

  4. It looks pretty neat and different. I could see it work as a standing workstation for brief use or a unit that is processing data all the time, that you don't need on your desk ... and motivates you to get up from time to time.

For my personal workspace, it lacks the desk and doesn't offer any storage.

  5. I built mine today, and I have to say I love it. I think that considering I spend very little time at my computer now that I have an iPad, it works very well for me. I just messed up because it calls for a Lack wall shelf, which was too thick. Now I'm considering what to do about the keyboard shelf, as it's too thick to bolt down.

  6. hi there! this is great!especially for my tiny apt.
I am curious about 2 things
What is the ikea style name/number of the shelf that the keyboard and mouse are on? I can't seem to find it on the ikea site :)
Did you mount this to the wall for added support / is the iMac to heavy that it will make the whole thing topple forward?
    Thanks

  7. I'm curious to find out how this has lasted since it so very much outweighs the shelf! I want to do this, but I am hesitant!

  8. Having had a lack desk (which collapsed when my five yr old leaned on it with elbows) I'd be very reluctant to use any lack series for holding anything more than a 5-10kg and certainly no dynamic loads as regular work surfaces experience.
