Materials: Effektiv, Hopen, Micke, Vika
Description: Once I figured out what I wanted to do this hack was pretty simple, knowing is half the battle. I used the Hopen 5 drawer units for the base Then I set the Micke drawers on top. On top of Micke I put an Effektiv cabinet with frosted glass doors. I mounted the Effektiv unit to the wall and screwed in two Vika legs under for extra support. Considering that I am going to be sleeping right next to this Ikea tower.
To add my classy details I used 2 rolls of damask printed wrapping paper from Target. On the glass drawers and doors I simply taped it on the inside. On the Micke drawers and on my wall I used Mod Podge

This is amazing! Well done! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is really cool.
ReplyDeleteHow much do you estimate it cost total?(not including the bed, of course). Just curious.... i love it and am looking for a new bedroom configuration, but i's broke! thanks!
ReplyDeleteThe wall behind the bed needs art or a subtle wallpaper, and I think this would have been better without the poles . Mount the top to the wall (like kitchen cabinets, they don't need poles for support).
ReplyDeleteThe damask is a good idea, but overdone in my opinion.
Thanks for the tip on wrapping paper at Target! I will have to check my Target to see what they have. I'm always on the lookout for decorative papers that are large enough to decoupage furniture.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless!
I only had to buy the big dressers at $150 each and the mini dressers I think were $75 each, wrapping paper $1o -liz
ReplyDeleteThe paper repeated so often is a bit overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Well Done, you must be proud! I'm totally inspired! Thank You!!!
ReplyDeleteI love damask, but I think you went a little over the top with it.
ReplyDeleteThis is great. The concept is genius. I love damask and the point is the CONCEPT. You can put whatever wallpaper of your choice. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteLove it gonna do something like this myself.
