XL Numerar Desk

Materials: Numerar Worktop (246 x 62cm) / Vika Kaj Adjustable Leg

Description: Me and my girlfriend needed a new desk. A large one. So that we could work at it together. Inspired by this post, we decided to go for a Numerar worktop (length 246cm). We thought it would look best to use as few legs as possible so we mounted some wooden beams we had left to our wall for the worktop to lay on. On the one side where there is no wall we attached a Vika Kaj adjustable leg to the worktop. The result is surprisingly stable!

For some unknown reason our walls are not 100% straight. This allows for some neat cable management as can be seen on the pictures.

Hope you like it.

Nice work. I’m planning to do the same thing but with 6 or 7 standalone legs. My main concern is the solidity of the Numerar countertop, is the stitched wood strong enough without full cabinet support?

Nice job. I’d probably paint the wood supports that run beneath and stabilize the table in the color of the wall.

I recently tiled the floor in my kitchen and discovered that a few of my walls weren’t even close to being strait! CRAZY!

The numerar countertop is SOLID – no need for support at the middle. I can sit on the middle of mine and it doesn’t even noticeably flex.

The birch looks great with the Vika Inge legs

Great idea! What size bit did you use to pre-drill the holes for the table leg?

Hey, I’ve just puchased a slab of the numerar for my desk (and i love it! paired with the alex drawers). Do you know if you need to follow the 2 moth regular oiling instructions if you are only going to use it as a desk? Also, will hot laptops on the desk be an issue? Thanks for any follow up!

  8. I have never even seen a fully straight wall… although there are rumours and old wives tales that claim they exist!
