Upside down Billy bookcase
Materials: Billy Bookcase
Description: I needed storage on my very deep, very large fireplace. I took a half height billy bookcase flipped it upside down and attached basic crown molding to the top. I know it's nothing spectacular but it works well for us.

ReplyDeletenice touch the molding
ReplyDeleteI am not very spatially adept.
ReplyDeleteWhy did you need to turn it over?
Thanks for the nice comments! It made my day!
ReplyDeleteWe had to turn the bookcase over to get the thin side down. If you look at the billy bookcase it has about a 3 inch base that we didn't want to see, we wanted the bookcase to start as close to the top of the fireplace as possible. Hope that helps. Thanks again

Thanks for your quick reply, Ashli!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the bookcase, so it makes perfect sense now to turn it upside down! It really looks fabulous, you did a beautiful job, Brilliant!
Thanks!!!! :)
ReplyDeletewhere did you get those baskets? I have been trying to find storage for the billy and have been having a hard time??
ReplyDeleteI love those baskets! Are they from Ikea?
ReplyDeleteThe baskets are from The Real Canadian Superstore, so if you're up here in Canada you could probably still find them there.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking :)
Simple and awesome! Thank you for this great idea, Ashli!
