That is just brilliant! I accidently drilled a hole in my Lacktable and it makes a very nice pencilholder, but this is a way better use of a hole!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brilliant!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWow, top notch! Love it!
ReplyDeleteSo easy and yet so creative! Love it.
ReplyDeletei love this. i am going to try this w/ the doubled up lack tables.
ReplyDeleteGENIAL!! Und wenn die Blume raus ist, völlig unauffällig!
ReplyDeletewhat an idea! i like it
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. I love how simple it is to do, and how elegant it looks.
ReplyDeleteI like this idea but don't like cut flowers, I wonder if a similar result could be obtained with a larger screw top vessel, a larger hole in the table and a living plant in potting compost.
ReplyDeleteI imagine a bush growing out of the table like a permanent centrepiece.
Ideally something like lavender or chamomile.
it surely depends on your taste and sensibility, lilnick. maybe you should drill a two-levels-hole (i mean like that it's not falling on the ground), and not throw the part your cutting(may be sawing the correct word?), like that you can use the circle to close the hole when you don't have a plant in it. lavender and chamomille to me are too big in a centerpiece: you may need a rectangular shaped living plant.
ReplyDeletewhy not hack like that a gueridon, or a kitchen trolley or island or peninsula, and plant some rosemary or sauge.....
or....why not hack a hack? (sorry i cannot find the link) do you remember that little kitchen cabinet coming from four lack bedside table and a top? it was a perfect sidetable, an helping surface in your kitchen, and if you drill it....
perfect!
this is so lovely. it's simple but smart. finally something on this blog that isn't just some shelving unit covered in decoupage and used as a catbox. keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteMe gusta! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Great idea
ReplyDeleteflower looks good, but there is no place to put water. haha flower might die..
ReplyDeletevery nice and space saving and beautiful too.
ReplyDeletelove it!!!
ReplyDelete@wholesale handbag, I'm assuming he has the lid glued to the bottom of the table and the glass can unscrew from the lid, so you can add water.
ReplyDeleteI think is a fun hack!
Awesome! What a great idea!
ReplyDeletebrilliant... so amazed!
ReplyDeleteway cool!

ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
A wonderful hack as well.
so japanese...
ReplyDeleteYou could drill through the table and then glue a mason jar ring to the underside. That way you could see just where to glue and you wouldn't have to drill through the lid, too. Maybe you don't mind drilling through the lid, but to me it's sort of klugey, I don't know why. I love the look, but I think my husband would kill me if I drilled a hole in any of our tables!

ReplyDeleteTOTALLY agree with you on the catbox thing. It seems cats always win when it comes to teh internets.
But forreals though. This is "Muji" like in it's simplistic beauty. Gotta love the japanese aesthetic.
As far as putting something larger in the centre of the table, if you wanted to keep the piece that is cut out you would just have to cut at an angle (like when you carve a pumpkin) so it will still sit in place when there is no plant in the hole.
ReplyDeleteGreat hack - very simple, very beautiful!
That's interesting...
ReplyDeleteActually, it's kind of cool. Definitely a conversation starter.
I did this today, it was incredibly easy and beautiful. thanks!
ReplyDeleteVery inspirational, I am looking at all kinds of things in my house where this hack could be applied. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, why is the girl in the picture depressed/sleeping? She does not like flowers in her table?
Table vase instead of flower vase is really nice idea......
ReplyDeleteLove it! It looks so designer expensive and yet simple - marvellous idea!
