A massive pot rack from Dave.
"I built a pot rack from Ikea bathroom shelves. Took 2 shelves, assembled them, flip them upside down, build a oak box around them, fasten them to oak frame with both a screw in the lower flange (what would have been the top flange).
Also added a top and bottom brace inside the oak frame for support, then attach to the ceiling with eyebolts into the ceiling joists attached to wire and turnbuckles. It was a great simple project. I added the Ikea hooks to hang pots underneath as well."

Great way to save space! How did you make sure it is securely attached to the ceiling? I have never tried to attach anything to the ceiling so far, concerned that it will eventually fall off some day..
ReplyDeleteI just got warned. I have to re write my whole sentence again. Anyways, I'm just saying that it's a good idea and concept doing that because not only it gives a purpose it also saved Mother Earth by recycling.
ReplyDeleteAny idea what shelves he used? and what did he use for the bars inside the rack?

Wow! I am impressed. I have seen several homemade pot racks and yours looks great! I love pot racks, they help save cabinet space and add decor to the kitchen. Take a look at the wide variety of pot racks http://www.potrackspecialist.com that are available for any kitchen size or style.

ReplyDeleteMaybe two of them side-by-side. I don't know about the oak part though
I would say looks a bit too flimsy plus reminds me of a drying rack... I prefer the ones that look like monorails. Have one of those in my kitchen. Looks cool but not too functional.
