19" server cabinet from Lack with Vika Curry legs

Matthijs, inspired by the simplicity of the LackRack(.org) hack, decides to create something a bit more practical for everyday office use, made by three stock Ikea products plus some regular stuff from the local hardware shop.

For instructions please click here. The page is in Dutch but it is pretty self-explanatory.

  1. Love the lack-hack, and this is a great extension of that. I'll definitely put this to use soon!

  3. Rack rails are dirt cheap, Why not buy a pair of rails and simply screw them in for a super clean rack look.

$15.00 to $20.00 for a new set of 16-21U rails, much less if you get them used off ebay.

P.S. that's a overheat waiting to happen you need 1U between each unit for proper cooling.

  4. Overheating? That's rack-mount gear, it flows from front to back...geez.
